A client approached us looking to update her master bath in her weekend home in the Berkshire foothills of Columbia County.
The master bath had not been updated in 20 years. Our client was eager to transform the space into a relaxing oasis, with a modern design and simple lines. Her must haves included a soaking tub, an expanded shower space, and ample storage.
There was an old jacuzzi tub that had to go. It was replaced with a modern free standing soaking tub. The original shower was small, so we reconfigured the area to expand the size of the shower.
We chose black walnut for the cabinets and shelving, not only for the contemporary feel that it gives the space, but also because of the beautiful grain. Black hexagonal tile was used on the floor and the hardware was changed from chrome to black, lending a more modern feel.
The final product is a testament to the patience and ingenuity of our client and the contractors who adapted and worked to create a peaceful, modern oasis that will be utilized for many years to come.
